Book 1 and 2
Starting with the beginning in book 1 there’s
the introduction of an epic poem which involves rage, this seems that there is
a disagreement of a sort where the two character are introduced Achilles and
Agamemnon. Achilles seems to be proud and headstrong and Agamemnon seems to be Arrogant
and selfish. Now the Trojan war is going on and the gods are interfering where
Apollo is sending a plague on a Greek camp causing many soldiers to die. Later
on Zeus also interferes in the war after being pleaded by his wife Hera. Zeus in
book 2 interferes by giving Agamemnon a false dream which seems to be
brainwashing him to do make questionable actions. So far this is my
understanding of the first two books my Greek mythology it is not that well but
from what I read things have been interesting. I was very surprised the gods
were getting involved so frequently and Zeus was also getting involved when he
stated before he did not want to interfere and help but was persuaded by Hera.
quite interesting, wonder how the influence of the gods will ebb and flow over the rest of the course of the story
ReplyDeleteI agree. The name of the characters were hard to follow but it was interesting to read about how the gods were taking part in the humans' conflict.
