Achilleus is losing his mind

Achilleus is starting to show his character’s true colors which surprisingly his hatred to Hektor specifically and is very angry that there is always someone there to help Hektor while Achilleus always stands alone to battle. Achilleus seems to have insecurity issues rather than how confident he may seem, and has a hated character in my opinion. Meaning that he doesn’t get the same respect that Hektor gets. With all the rage that Achilleus has he is ready to battle anyone whether it’s the son of a mortal or not ... he caused a lot of dispute.

    I feel like Achilles' anger towards Hektor was primarily because of how he mostly caused Patroklos' death. If it wasn't for Hektor, Achilles' closest friend would still be alive. If it wasn't for his death, Achilles wouldn't have rejoined the war, so it's easy to see just why Achilles had so much anger towards Hektor. I agree though, by going straight for Hektor he is able to show that he should be a very respected and feared warrior.

    I agree with you Leila, Achilleus character does seem to make everyone sort of hate him. I found it disturbing that even when he had Hector dying in front of him, he should have at least let his body go back to his family in Troy. But instead he feeds in to the dogs of Archean's and before that the rest of the Archean's stab the dead body even more. I found that so disturbing. It shows how the Achaeans don't respect the dead and how hateful they are towards the Trojans. As much as Achilleus wants to make the people foreget how great Hektor is why treating his body horribly he cannot. Hektors mother even states a powerful and meaningful quote. Troy Hekabē cries out, "Child, I am wretched. What shall my life be in my sorrows, now you are dead, who by day and in the night were my glory in the town, and to all of the Trojans and the women of Troy blessing throughout their city. They adored you as if you were a god, since in truth you were their high honor while you lived, Now death and fate have closed in upon you" (line 431-436). So as much as Achilles wants the Trojans to not honor Hektor they will forever honor him because he was their leader and a brave prince.
