At this point there is a lot going on. The Greeks wake up in a morning of war cry from the gods. “Zeus sent down in speed to the fast ships of Achians the wearisome goodness of hate, holding in her hands the protect of battle”. Agamemnon was slaughtering many Trojans at first. Then Zeus sends iris to tell hector to pull back until Agamemnon is wounded and then power will come in hectors favor. However, Paris shoots diomeds with an arrow and Odysseus gets stabbed by socus. Hector returns to battle field and the Achaeans begin to lose their hope and moral. Moreover, I think the role of the gods in increased in the battle compared to before because first Zeus sends Irish to advise hector, and then the rains blood on the battle field.
